The Record Power CH900 HSS Oval Skew is a more recent version of the traditional skew and has an oval shape rather than the flat back of the standard chisel to make it easier to roll the chisel across the tool rest, giving a smoother feel to blade control on fine work.
Many first time wood turners find this easier to master than the standard flat backed version.
